44 Black students enrolled in Saratoga Elementary School in 2022-23 school year

There were 44 Black students enrolled in Saratoga Elementary School in the 2022-23 school year, 29.4% more than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 818 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Black students comprised 5.4% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Saratoga Community Consolidated School District 60C with a central office in Morris.

Saratoga Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled Black students, welcoming 44 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
