After her education in nursing, Bettie pursued a career in pediatric nursing, where she cared for young patients at hospitals in Maryland and Chicago. Her love story with her husband, Chuck Greenway, led to a lifelong journey filled with mutual respect and shared endeavors like establishing Greenway Pontiac Olds in 1967.
Known for her zest for life, Bettie enjoyed boating and traveling with Chuck, making each trip memorable. Her faith played a significant role in her life, as she actively participated in Methodist churches in Lockport and Morris. Bettie was involved in the Lockport Women's Club, nurturing friendships and giving back to her community.
Bettie's true joy was her family, survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry on the legacy of love she instilled in them. Her dear dog, Joy, was a faithful companion in her later years.
Predeceased by her husband, parents, and brother-in-law, Bettie is remembered for the love, care, and warmth she shared with all. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to We Care of Grundy County or United Methodist Church of Morris.
Private services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery to celebrate Bettie's life. An online guestbook is available at www.ucdaviscallahan.com. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris, IL.
