Timothy J. McGrath, Veteran and Community Volunteer, Dies at 69

Timothy J. McGrath, aged 69, passed away on November 3, 2024. Born on September 14, 1955, Tim's life was defined by dedication to his loved ones and community.

A proud army veteran, Tim exhibited values of courage and commitment. His career as a boiler maker showcased his skill and dedication, highlighted by his design and fabrication of the Alter at Five Martyrs Catholic Church in Brighton Park for a visit by Pope John Paul II. Later, he worked for Exelon, ensuring excellence in his deliveries.

Tim's community involvement included volunteering at the VFW in Minooka, preparing meals for veterans and their families. An avid bowler, he enjoyed friendly competition with his team at the local lanes. Family meant everything to Tim; he is survived by his wife Cynthia, children Peter, Brian (Hope), Carrie (Sean), grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He was a loving brother to Richard, the late Margaret, and Patricia (Joseph).

Preceded in death by his parents and brother Michael, Tim's memory lives on through those he impacted. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, followed by a celebration of Tim's life at UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. Aqua Cremation rites have been accorded.
