Alice Marie Hunt Remembered for Her Dedication to Church, Family, and Community

Alice Marie Hunt, aged 87, of Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30th, 2024. Born in Minneapolis, MN on July 28, 1937, to Ruth and Clarence Mackey, Alice's life was characterized by her commitment to church, family, and the community she cherished.

Alice’s educational journey led her through Minneapolis Schools, culminating in her graduation from The Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. In 1959, she ventured to Morris, IL, where she devoted 17 years to serving as a church secretary at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Peace Lutheran Church. Alice’s passion for music shone through her work directing Junior Choirs and guiding children’s musicals at both churches. Her involvement extended to diverse committees, including leadership in 4-H, the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, membership on the Hospital Auxiliary Board, and a 37-year commitment to volunteering at Morris Hospital. An enthusiastic Chicago Cubs fan for 59 years, Alice found joy in supporting her favorite team. She shared the love of travel with her husband, Bob, celebrating 58 years of cherished married life together. Above all, Alice's faith in the Lord was central to her life, guiding her actions and shaping her relationships for decades.

Alice is survived by her sons Andrew (Kimberly), Dave (Michelle), Matthew (Karla), and Paul (Debbie) Hunt; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is remembered with love by family, friends, and all who crossed her path.

Predeceasing Alice were her parents, Ruth and Clarence Mackey; her husband, Bob Hunt; her nephews, Christoper and Johnathan Hunt; her niece, Karen Muller; her brother, Roger Mackey; her sister, Lois Davis; and her granddaughter, Grace Hunt.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Naples, Florida, where Alice spent her final days. Memorial donations may be made to Friends In Action at PO Box 323, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 (fiaintl.org).

Alice’s unwavering dedication and love will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
