Morris High School has published its athletic schedule for events occurring from December 20, 2024, through January 6, 2025. The calendar includes competitions in basketball, wrestling, swimming, cheerleading, and bowling.
Several events were scheduled before Christmas. On December 20, the Girls Basketball teams participated in away games at the Ottawa Tournament: the varsity team faced JCA at 1:30 p.m., and the sophomore team played at 5 p.m. According to the schedule, on December 21, Morris High hosted the Girls Wrestling Invitational at 9 a.m., while the Girls Bowling teams competed in the Lockport Invitational at the same time. The Varsity Swimming team attended the Joliet Invitational held at Inwood Athletic Club starting at 9:30 a.m. Additionally, on December 21, the Cheer Squad took part in Cheer Fest at Joliet West with performances by Varsity at 2:15 p.m. and Junior Varsity at 9:20 a.m. On December 23, the Boys Sophomore Basketball team competed in the Plano Christmas Classic at 3:30 p.m.
The post-Christmas schedule includes several key events. Boys Basketball teams (sophomore and varsity) are set to compete in the Plano Christmas Classic on December 26, 27, and 28; game times are yet to be determined. The Boys Freshman Basketball Christmas Invite will occur on December 27 and 28 with home games scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. On December 28 at 10 a.m., Varsity Boys Wrestling will participate in the Huntley Mega Dual. The Girls Varsity Wrestling team is slated to compete in the Ottawa Invitational on December 30 at 9 a.m.
The first week of January offers numerous athletic opportunities for Morris High students. On January 3, Girls Basketball will play against Dixon with games scheduled for freshman at 4:30 p.m., sophomores at 5:30 p.m., and varsity at 7 p.m. Boys Basketball will face Sandwich with freshman playing at 5 p.m., sophomores at 6:15 p.m., and varsity at 7:30 p.m. On January 4, Boys Basketball will host Wilmington with freshman and sophomore games starting at 2 p.m., followed by varsity action at 3:30 p.m. Also on January 4, Varsity Boys Wrestling will compete in the Dixon Dual beginning at 9:30 a.m. On January5 ,the Pom Squad is set to perform during Lakes Dance Invitational with dances planned for times subject to change) Finally,on January6,Girls Bowling is scheduledto meet Yorkvilleat Echo Lanesstartingat4p .m
