New Community Christian Church has inaugurated its new premises on Heritage Drive in Morris, just in time for Easter celebrations. The ceremony, held on April 14, included a ribbon-cutting attended by Pastors Kevin Yandell and Jacob Raymer, along with congregation members, Mayor Chris Brown, and representatives from the Grundy County Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Pastor Kevin Yandell extended an invitation to the community, stating, “We welcome all to stop in for a visit. Our Sunday gathering is a time for reflection and focusing upon God and how He offers to meet our needs.”

Yandell described New Community as “a non-denominational church family seeking to honor God and share God’s love with our friends and neighbors in Grundy County. This is our calling: ‘Loving people where they are, while showing them the truth of Jesus.’”

The church officially opened the doors of its new location in October. The facility includes a spacious foyer, a stage, a children's area downstairs, and community space.

Having served the community for 24 years, New Community Christian Church employs five people and emphasizes being a multi-generational church. The Sunday services are noted for featuring vibrant children's programs and contemporary worship music.

Chamber President & CEO Christina Van Yperen commented on the new location, saying, “The new location is beautiful and welcoming. It truly shows New Community’s investment in their community and their congregation.”

The church office operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Sunday gatherings scheduled at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Additional information can be found on their website or by visiting the church in person. Details about the Grundy County Chamber can be accessed at their website.
