An active member of the Verona Methodist Church, McCormack enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening, and bird-watching. He was known for his ability to help others, whether it was mowing lawns, fixing things, or crafting wood projects for his grandchildren. McCormack also dedicated his time volunteering at Park Pointe Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Morris, as well as visiting the Morris Diner.
He is survived by his daughter Kim Wendling, granddaughters Kaitlyn White and Anna Hynes, great-grandchildren Hailey, Trevor, Oliver, and Calvin, siblings, and numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and godchildren. McCormack was preceded in death by his wife Nancy, brothers Bud, Don, and Chuck, and sister Dorothy.
A visitation and celebration of Jim’s life will occur on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. McCormack will be laid to rest at Ward Cemetery following the luncheon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Verona Methodist Church or Serenity Estates Activities.
