Gerald E. Mettille, 81, of Morris, passes away

Gerald E. Mettille, 81, passed away peacefully in Morris, IL, on August 26, 2025. A Navy veteran, he dedicated 25 years to Alumax Factory and served his community as a paper deliverer for the Chicago Sun-Times. Gerald was known for his love of golf and unwavering support for the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nephew. A graveside service will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery followed by a celebration of life at the VFW in Morris. Donations in his memory can be made to the Grundy County Veteran’s Association.
